Bose Companion 5 and Mac OS Mojave 01:59 AM. Message 1 of 5 Hello. My Bose Companion 5 has disappeared from the list via USB. Bose Companion 5 Speakers Surround sound is a frequently touted feature for computer speakers. Nevertheless, the likelihood of its use in most regular computer setups is slim: there is rarely any room for the rear satellites in a home office or college dorm, which turns most surround systems into overpowered two-channel speakers. I had exactly the same issue as you, but with the Bose companion 3 speakers. Originally I bought a Bluetooth box which I just pluged in via aux to connect to my MacBook Pro. Really easy set up, but as soon as I started playing any music, the quality was just really disappointing. Taken from the features page on the BOSE website for the Companion 5: Control pod Intuitive and convenient, this multi-function pod houses volume control, single-touch mute, headphone jack and connection for a second audio source such as an MP3 player.
