Finally someone's combined the know-how and motivation to develop a star trails stacker that runs on Mac and Linux. It's free, it's called StarStaX and is now available for download from www. Running Starry Landscape Stacker which runs only on a mac was a bit of a challenge so I rented a virtual mac desktop from virtualmacosx.com. It's not as good as owning my own Mac computer but this approach is cost effective and it served my needs well. Starry Landscape Stacker. Operating System: Mac only Cost: $29.99.

The 1st update of RegiStax 6 is available for download from the downloadpage. This update only replaces the executable file of RegiStax and needs to be installed in the same directory where RegiStax 6 has been installed, you should NOT uninstall. StarStaX is a fast multi-platform image stacking and blending software, which is developed primarily for Star Trail Photography. It allows to merge a series of photos into a single image, where the relative motion of the stars creates structures looking like star trails. StarStaX is available for Mac OS X and Windows. It is free to download and free to use for any purpose, including commercial projects.
